An Approach to Gurdjieff’s Teaching And Movements (Sacred Dance)

A direct student of Gurdjieff for 25 years, Mr. Willem Nyland started groups in America on Gurdjieff’s request. Mr. Nyland (died 1975) left a large number of audio tapes which continue to be studied today by his students.

Sacred Dances (Movements) passed down in person through the years also continue to be studied intensively. A meeting offered twice per month in Austin is led by a direct student of Mr. Nyland and has been teaching the Movements for 30 years.

Meditation and Journaling Workshop

Has anyone ever suggested to you, “You should journal about that,” and you froze, unsure what that really meant? Join us for an enriching and interactive workshop where we’ll delve into the art of meditation and journaling.

Using the centuries-old Panca Maya model as our framework, we’ll explore layers of self, from the physical to the spiritual. You’ll sample a variety of meditation and journaling practices that help ground you in your physical body, deepen your understanding of thoughts and emotions, and access inner wisdom. Ultimately, these practices guide us toward connecting with Purusa – our self, spirit, or consciousness – at the core of the Panca Maya model.

An Approach to Gurdjieff’s Teaching And Movements (Sacred Dance)

These particular exercises and movements were brought to America by Gurdjieff and presented to the public in 1924.

One hundred years ago, Gurdjieff left Jasmine Howarth with the responsibility for movements in America from that time forward. The groups of Mr. Nyland received these movements under her direction and often her direct teaching at the barn in New York.

We will have an artist and healing market & experience with food, healing and arts vendors, sound healing, herbal support, tea and more. *Inquire about a vendor spot.
